Just wandering what a good overall mulit-vitamin would be (ex. Mega Men from GNC) that's just an example.

GNC? GNC! What a waist of money. I blew too much of my money there on their way marked up prices... try nearly double the cost you can find online. The undisputed best vit and min supplement are the animal paks by Universal. Way more vits and mins, plus extra trace elements, aminos, and some other things you don't need. You can get 44 paks for less than 20 bucks online. Oh, and trust me, you only need 1 pak a day to watch your urine turn to radioactive yellow and know that you're getting way more than your body needs. A word to the wise, you'll get way more for less. There are always downfalls though. About 4 pills in the pak are absolutely huge; don't try to swallow them whole. Use a sharp knife, cut the horse pills up, and save your throat.

Go to Sams or Costco and pick up a generic brand of multi vitamin. Cheap and you get a tone of them. Most of whats in them you just piss out anyway. Get most of your vitamins and minerals from food and don't rely on the tablet.

I'm bumping this becuase I feel that it's important to get a quality multivitamin as one of the cornerstones of your training.

My multi of choice is Life Force Multiple from Source Naturals IRON FREE. If you're a woman who has periods then grab the one with iron.

i think i may try the whole foods one with chelated iron again soon. now i'm using this spectravite thing from cvs pharmacy.

it does matter what vitamin you take. not all the vatamins in the pill are always absorbed. make sure that the pill bottle at least has the usp rating on it for the cheap stuff.

edit... look at this!

If that's true I'd like to see the study since I've always wondered if I'm throwing my money away. Susan?

I don't think it was an offical study. I believe this was Susan's own test. Nonetheless, I still hold it as valid.

that one looks really good. it doesn't have the dl version of vitamin e and it has chelated iron. it should be easily absorbed.

There was no test/study. The comment he is referring to is one I made regarding pathophys, and the fact that we used to find undigested vitamins in our cadavers.

Vitamins should be insurance anyway. Let's talk about how many green veggies, nuts, seeds, legumes, etc...you're getting.

I've used Univeral Nutritions Animal Pak for a while. I also was using One-A-Day, i was splitting them in half to help with the dissolving and taking 3 of the halfs.
