Here is my bulking shake that I eat every morning when bulking.. And sometimes another one later in the day

Just for the record, I'm not the biggest oat or egg fan... but the taste is very well masked in this shake... The oats get blended up so well, and add a very nice texture to the drink... If you leave it in your fridge all day it turns into a pudding like substance! Which is also good.

INGREDIANTS
-2 packs regular quaker instant oatmeal (or equivilant oats) uncooked
-3 to 4 eggs, throw them in the microwave for a minute or two until they are semi hard
-1 tablespoon ALL NATURAL peanut butter
-1 bannana (optional, but makes it taste 100x better)
-1 to 2 scoops whey protein powder
-350 to 400 ml water depending on how thick you like it
-If you put warm eggs in, use some ice cubes to bring the temperature of the drink back down

NOTE:
Water can be supplemented with milk, but will slow down the digestion time, but will add a little casein protein to widen up the protein sources a little more. This drink is VERY filling when milk is used!

How to make it:
Blend it all up...
You get a very nice spectrum or nutrients including complex carbs for long term energy(oats), a very wide spectrum of amino acids in your protein due to eggs. Quality fats from the peanut butter, plus a little protein and a lot of good flavor..
You don't HAVE to add your protein mix to it... but it helps crank the protein up and you get some faster absorbing protein from the whey.

It comes out to between 800-1100 calories depending on how you make it,(even more with milk).... it tastes great and it pretty filling... I can eat a shit load more when its blended up.
Thanks
Ryan

No problemo...

I forgot to mention...
If your bulking.. and dont mind the extra calories... you can add 1/2 a pack of a instant hot chocolate package and it tastes REALLY REALLY good...

Let me know what you guys think.... The concoction sounds kind of gross... but Believe me.. its so damn good... I ate it everyday for months... and I never got sick of it...

I'm on a lower calory diet for the time being soo I've been missing out on my drink... But come August... its balls to walls time again and I will be pounding back at least one of those a day!

Hey Louden, you never told me how you tricked your metabolism into keeping you lean while you ate so much.

I really think the PB ruins the shake... toss it and add a tablespoon of yogurt.

I honestly can't remember now.. but it was late 2002... I used more than a tablespoon though...

I personally really like the PB... Plus it adds some EFA's

Awesome! I make a shake similiar to this. I put a cup of oatmeal in the blender alone first. It makes the oatmeal almost like a powder. Then I put in whole milk, 7 table spoons of olive oil, some heavy whipping cream, 3 scoops of whey, and peanut butter. I too throw in a banana for taste. It really does make a difference.

I never tried putting semicooked eggs in though. How does that affect the texture, and taste? If you don't notice at all, or it doesn't give it a bad texture, I will start adding the eggs asap!

I think posting up things like this is important. Weight gainers cost too much money, and are mostly sugar. Thanks Dr! :)

You dont notice the eggs at all actually.. as long as you put ice in there... If the eggs are still steaming and nasty and you dont put ice in... then you can notice it... but eggs+ice=no noticeable taste but lots of extra VERY high quality protein.

Do you have a cutting shake? LOL

Cutting shake(LOL):
Replace bulking breakfast shake with

1 cup low fat/low carb diet yogurt
1/4 cup oats

40g carbs
6g fat
14g protein

lol... Thats what I eat right now an hour before i workout
(i workout an hour after i wake)

I then eat 20-30g of carbs with small meals containing 30-40g protein every 2 hours for 3-4 meals. Followed by a meal with Protein/Fat and lots of green veggies...

Maybe 1 more protein meal 2-3 hours before bed... Combined with 300mg ALA 3x day...

Thats the Drbones diet roughly....
Keep my carbs around 150g a day (600 cals) None after 4-5pm
protein 200-250g (800-1000 cals)
fat 30-60g(270-540 cals)

Roughly 2000 calories a day...

Have gone from around 197 to 187ish in about 2 weeks... I'd guess at least 5-6 lbs water... but I drop weight really fast.. strength continues to go up as my carbs are planned around my workouts... carbs are usually cut out around 4-5pm.. doing light cardio probably 3 times a week while simultaneously doing Animal masses Dual factor hypertrophy program

Some of my common lower carb meals are

Tuna Rice Cracker Combo (488 cals 71g pro, 24-26g carbs, 5g fat)
2 cans tuna (299 cals 69.16g protein 2.6g fat 0g carbs)
1.5 tablespoon light mayo (46cals 3.5g fat)
A squirt of honey mustard (20cals???)
Diced up cucumber (Free food IMO)
15 Rice crackers (124 cals, 2g protein, 24g carbs, 1.8g fat)

Spicey Tofu dogs wrapped in chease (234 cals, 43g pro, 17g carbs)
2 tofu dogs (152cals 34g pro, 12g carbs)
2 slices low fat kraft singles(82 cals, 9g protein, 3g fat, 5g carbs

Turkey sandwhich (324 cals, 32.5g carbs 28.3g pro)
2 slices small whole wheat bread (158 cals?? 30g carbs, 5g pro, 2g fat)
100g/3oz turkey breast(94 cals, 1g fat 19g pro)
1 slice low fat kraft singles(41 cals, 4.5 protein, 1.5g fat 2.5g carbs)
Cucumber
1 tablespoon light mayo(31 cals)

Im getting tired... If anybody else wants to add in any more recipes that fit kind of close to my diet I've posted feel free... I may add this to the diet thread over on the diet discussion board tomorrow.... When Im done dietting in about 4-6 weeks I will post some before and after pictures...

Just made one of these with 2 packets of oatmeal, milk, 2 eggs, peanut butter, and whey protein. Tastes like cake mix. Haha. This is delicious!
