What a horrible week of lifting!
So I get pretty sick 2 weeks ago, and i dont eat much and I dont lift for 1 week. Im back to normal weight now, but man, everything feels so incredibly heavy. Like insanely heavy. My CNS must be fried to hell or something lol. I can handle a bad week since I know the cause, but next week I better be 100% b/c I hate setbacks!!

Just venting really lol, but do you guys experience this alot after being pretty sick? Like, my lifts aren't bad, but when I go heavy, it just feels horrible. I guess if you either know what I'm talking about, or you don't :)

I trained on Sunday and set several PR's...just not ENOUGH energy.

See, I FEEL like i have the energy until i start lifting..and after about 10 minutes, or 1 real set, I feel like ive been training for hours. Like today, not to mention the horrible 'heavy as shit' feeling, I had to call it a day after about 5 sets.

You may want to take a week or two of deloading too. You don't necessarily have to train light, but slashing volume and frequency will help your CNS recharge.

Hey, i feel your pain. 2 weeks ago i was home for winter break, the whole week i was fine, then friday i was supposed to drive back up to school and that morning i have a stomach virus, lost a total of 7lbs. First squat session back my body was trembling under the weight, today my body felt more stable but just didnt have that pop/explosion out of the hole. If you dont have a competition or anything soon i would say listen to your body and take it easy for a week.

Eat...and then eat again and again!!!!!

haha, good advice, solves many problems! :) Not that I dont try to eat alot now but, I'm going to take your advice to the next step and try to add an extra meal or a couple hundred calories at every meal, atleast for this week, and see How I feel. that was a long run on sentance i think.

Thanks!!

Also a good idea. Next week is my spring break, and due to having a shortage of places to lift for the time being, I'll probably miss DE upper and heavy deads that week. I think I will slash my volume and change up my frequence for the remaining days that week, and the following week as well..see if that helps.

Thanks man.

Bah horrible feeling. One day you have 600lbs on your back and it feels GREAT. about 10 days later, 405 is compressing your spine and your lungs!!

No comps anytime soon, so maybe I should take it easy for a week or so. I've been going heavy deads/squats weekly for 3 weeks in a row, then I usually cut a day out for 1 week. While this has been working to an extent, I can only handle so many 1rep maxes or close to it...weekly.

Thanks

Here is the Cycle of Hell

...Person wants to be biggest baddest mo fracky alive, so what does he do train hard...right?!! Belives harder train, more you gain!

1. said idea= trains harder
2. trains harder = breaks down CNS
3. Broke down CNS = Broke down Imune system
4. Broke down Immune System = Gets weaker
5. Getting weaker = Trains harder

...wait a minute, didnt we already talk about what trains harder = out to be???

There goes the cycle of hell (in lamens terms)"to many" people take part in oh so often! TO INCLUDE MYSELF!

Peace
