The kid dying of brain cancer Part II
Stop me if this is getting too depressing.
My girlfriend was going out for dinner tonight with the kid's mom. (If you missed the earlier post - he is 5 years old dying of brain cancer.) It was supposed to be a 'girls night out.' All the mom's women friends were getting together to take her out to dinner... try to get her mind off things for a few moments. It didn't work that way. As soon as they all arrived at one woman's house to go to dinner - the mom got a call. Her kid was being rushed to emergency brain surgery. He had had a shunt put in a few days ago to ease the preassure on his brain. The shunt backed up and got infected. So instead of going to dinner and eating pasta, garlic bread and drinking good wine - all the women went to the hospital to wait with the mom. The surgery is a bandaid. The kid will die in a few days. He's already insane. If he wakes up after anesthesia he will not recognize his mother. Everybody sitting there knows that yet it is what nobody says to the mom. Death is cruel when it doesn't come fast. |

This is one of life's harsh realities. It's so sad it has to happen someone so young. The only justice, if you want to call it that, is he will be in a better place.

That's horrible. My prayers go out to the family.

Not really... I've been there before... first hand and personal. It's affecting me way too much to be seeing it again. |

I can't read these threads anymore. All I can see is my daughter.

Breaks my heart to hear of such sorrow.
I pray God takes this child soon. It's sad to hear he and his family are suffering so much. I thank God daily my child is healthy! |
